Updates from Engage@EMU

Upward Bound

EMU Upward Bound has had a busy 2024 preparing students for college admission! Our seniors and their parents engaged in a FAFSA night in partnership with Ypsilanti Community High School to provide a clear understanding of the current status of the process of getting financial aid.

EMU STEM Day will be held on March 15th, bringing students to the Gameabove College of Engineering and Technology for a day of activities, STEM-based mentorship, and fun.

In filing our annual report, we were also excited to find that 80% of our graduating seniors enrolled in postsecondary education after high school graduation with many choosing Eastern Michigan University. Also, 50% of our 2017 cohort graduated from college within six years. The current rate of postsecondary completion in Ypsilanti is less than 30%.

Veteran Student Support Services

EMU"s investment in student veterans through Veteran Student Support Services has enabled EMU to be consistently listed as one of the top ten large universities in the nation for being military and veteran friendly, according to GI Jobs since 2017.
